Mariano Albera

As Checkout.com’s Chief Technology Officer, Mariano leads the broadly skilled team of 600+ people responsible for the technology strategy that underpins the operation of the company’s global high-performance payments platform. Mariano has been with Checkout.com since 2020 initially leading our payment products as Senior Vice President of Engineering.

Prior to Checkout.com he was CTO at Expedia, leading their B2B business and their public APIs, he also held CTO roles at OVO Energy, Thomas Cook and the online travel agency Opodo.com.

Mariano grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he studied Information Systems Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Catolica Argentina and when he is not working you can usually find him playing Padel or video games with his kids, he is currently ranked Gold 2 in Valorant.
