The Platform is responsible for thoroughly vetting the Platform Merchants it is seeking to onboard, and for conducting on-going monitoring on its existing Platform Merchants. As a result, the Platform is required to have processes in place to review each Platform Merchant, including but not limited to the following:
The above processes and procedures will be reviewed by Checkout.com on a periodic basis and will need to be of a standard satisfactory to Checkout.com.
The Platform may not use the Checkout.com service for activities that include:

Checkout.com requires pre-approval and a review of Platform’s ability to effectively onboard and manage risk in order to accept payments for certain services as detailed below.
Platform Merchants operating in each of the sectors listed below are to be considered as prohibited, unless prior written consent to onboard such Platform Merchants is obtained from Checkout.com. To enable a Platform Merchant operating in one of these sectors, the Platform will need to:
- provide Checkout.com with all the necessary supporting documentation for such a Platform Merchant, as requested by Checkout.com from time to time, including copies of the internal assessment carried out on the Platform Merchant;
- demonstrate how it manages and controls the risks associated with the sector, including but not limited to:

Payment Schemes publish a list of MCCs/line of business (LoBs) regarded as “High Risk”, and as such, require registration with the Payment Schemes, under their various programs. The updated list of applicable MCCs/LoBs for each scheme is available within the Payment Scheme Rules.
Should Checkout.com accept Platform’s proposal to onboard a Platform Merchant in a category listed in 1.3 above, and such MCC/LoB also falls within the High Risk category as dictated by the Payment Schemes, Checkout.com may require to register such Platform Merchant on behalf of the Platform.
There may be an annual fee charged for each sponsored Platform Merchant, and this will be passed through by Checkout.com to the Platform.
